Apparently German Shepherds also do.  My wife, Joan, and I were walking
around a Mall in NH one evening, after cleaning the shelter.  The local
police force was there giving a demonstration on their K-9 corps.  One of
the dogs was a trained drug sniffer.  Apparently he was also fascinated by
ferrets.  When we walked by the dog took a very keen interest in us.  The
police officer began to look at us quite suspiciously.  We called out "he
must smell our ferrets" and walked a little faster.  I could just see us
stopped and frisked on the suspicion of drug possession.
