It's important to note that even IF Ben Stiller was bitten by a ferret,
whether through mishandling or whatever, and even IF this ferret did not
have proper rabies vaccination, there was still NO NEED for Stiller to
get rabies shots!

It has been over 6 years since the Center for Disease Control amended
its recommendations to a 10 day quarantine for ferret bites, REGARDLESS
of the vaccination status of the animal.

See http://www.avma.org/pubhlth/rabcont.asp for the latest Compendium
of Rabies Control.

Unless the ferret escaped into the wilds of Hollywood (where it would
no doubt decimate the local wildlife population, if there is any!) and
was unavailable for observation, Stiller's doctor made a gross error in
performing an unnecessary procedure.
