Hello,

Today I had my second ferret, Friday, put to sleep due to advanced kidney
failure. Despite the discomfort of her condition, she was still curious,
feisty, and bossy. I did not, however, want to see her progress into
further discomfort; she deserved to not be in pain.

I adopted Friday at the age of 1.5 yrs from a relative who got her as a
gift, but decided she didn't want her. I immediately had to take her in
to have an adrenalectomy, and remain happy even now that she did not fall
prey to a recurrence of that disease. It was very much in her character
to never give in and never give up.

Friday's sense of humor involved getting me into a situation where I
couldn't retaliate / move out of her way, and nipping at my feet to make me
jump around - picture a woman wrapped only in a towel, brushing her teeth
while standing on a toilet to avoid a bouncing, teensy albino ferret on the
bathroom floor below, and you have a good idea of Friday's sense of fun.

Friday joins Noodle, Easel, Potpie, and Bobo-kitty, and will be sorely
missed.

Melissa
