Hi all,
Re-shelters in Sydney, Australia

The NSW ferret welfare society is based in Sydney and have lots of dumped
ferrets that are looking for a new home. They can be contacted via the
web site http://members.tripod.com/AliFerret/. As far as I know ferrets
have a fairly high dumpage rate or worse many are just left outside for
years in little cages. The majority of local pounds and RSPCA shelters
don't take ferrets because they do not have the facilities so they tend
to be destroyed on the spot. My advice would be to get your ferrets
desexed post haste (note to people in US- Australian ferrets are not
desexed until they are about 6 months, descenting is only done for
medical reasons), and instead put your name down at all local pounds,
vets, pet shops (they tend to recycle ferrets) and RSPCA shelters and
tell them that you will take unwanted ferrets-you will soon have all
the ferrets you could possibly want.

Skye and the recycled three.
