HI Shelley-
I have been following your posts and know you are trying hard to do right
with the ferrets. The truth is nothing is worst for bedding than cedar--
ANY CEDAR the oils in the cedar are toxic and can be absorbed into the
bloodstream causing neurological damage. A pair of ferret came into the
shelter after being on these shavings for 2 years and it took 3 months for
them to walk correctly. Another shelter got ferrets in cedar their corneas
fell out of their eyes-- they were blinded from the acidic oils in the
shavings-- please put aspen shred in for bedding IF you feel you need to
have shavings-- really for bedding old sweatshirts, tee shirts and hammocks
are the very best!
