Hi,

I am hoping someone here can help me out.

I ran a small ferret shelter in Florida for the past six years. I had
anywhere from 8 to (very briefly) over 40 (usually around 12) ferrets
in a back bedroom. The room has drywall walls and a vinyl floor over
a cement slab. We have moved out and are now in our new house. The
problem is with the old house. My realtor informs me that there is an
overwhelming ferret odor coming from the ferret bedroom. We have been
gone for a month. The room's walls have been sealed and painted. The
realtor says there is still an odor.

She cannot determine for sure where the smell is coming from. She does
not think it smells like urine. She wants to remove and replace my
baseboards and remove the vinyl flooring, then seal the cement and
put down new carpet or vinyl. I cannot afford all this right now,
especially since she's not sure of where the odor is coming from.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for removing pet odor from an
empty room?

Thank you!!

Kim
