Dear FMLers,

After reading the post yesterday on "exposing" Marshall and their poor
breeding stock as well as shipping out too young ferrets, I can only
agree. I have one Hagen ferret, Bentley, who is a year and a half. He
is a big boy (near four pounds!), no health problems, super goofy and
loves life and people. My other ferret, Cinnamon, is a Marshall. She
is so teeny, only a little over a pound which is probably common for a
female but I still think it's teeny, she is very nervous and agitated
around people, she is only a little over a year and has cataracts and I
can only blame Marshall. When I got her, she was the runt and had scabs
on her body from being beaten up by other ferrets. I felt so bad for her
(which isn't the greatest way to pick a ferret, I know) and I had planned
on getting her anyways so I wasn't going to stop myself because I figured
the scabs would heal. And they did. But the health problems are now
coming. It's dissappointing that a ferret's livelihood may be cut short
due to poor breeding.

Also, i don't know if other people have griped about this, but i do not
like the Marshall guarantee whatsoever! We all know to feed our ferts
a mix of foods so they don't get picky however Marshall's states their
guarantee is only valid if you feed the Marshall food. Can you say stinky
poops? As well as the fact that NONE of my ferrets have ever liked
Marshall food? UGH! I hope that someone will step up and do something
about it. Marshall needs to be educated by the FMLers, it seems! Have
people had similar differences (oxy moron?) in a Marshall ferret compared
to another "brand"? I can't be the only one who notices... Please share
your stories. I would like to know what I can expect for my poor baby
girl.

Lisa, Bentley and Cinnamon

Bentley: DOOKS! I love my new room! SO spacious... Open cage door is
nice. LOOK! Food...

Cinnamon: New room? Too big, where do I poop? Here's good. Oh, here's
good too. Now I'm gonna run around, step in it and make mommy mad! HA HA!

Lisa: CINNAMON, BENTLEY! NOOOOOOOOO!!! Here is the litter box. Use it
or I'll cage you again!

Bentley, Cinnamon: Yeah right. . . You love us too much! We're too
cute to cage.

[Moderator's note: Caution: The Marshall Farms debates surface regularly
here and the resulting flames need to be extinguished with an industrial
stength firetruck. Please look into the archives before ranting away in
response. BIG]
