Hello Peoples & Dooks to the Fuzzies ~

I'm generally just a lurker here, but have a question. I live in a small
(wee, tiny, nearly non-existant) town that only has a vet for 1/2 day
every two weeks. By the occurance of a small miracle, I managed to
find him IN this week ... he does not, of course, know about ferrets.
He DID refer me to a vet about sixty miles away who does ferrets. He
also got to chatting (lots of folks do that up here ... its the major
entertainment), and mentioned that he'd gotten a guest speaker on ferrets
at their symposium last year. He did not attend, but said that this
woman ... Kathleen Mc(something) ... was successfully developing and
working with a NON-SURGICAL cure for adrenal problems. Does anyone
know who she is, or anything about this? I inherited a couple of ferrets
that were "loosing hair, but not adrenal" (A-hem ... sure) but are a
bit older and VERY tiny ... I'd like to spare them surgical risks if
possible ... especially since the one with the most obvious symptomology
is the more frail-seeming, and older, of the two. Neither appears to be
suffering unduly, both eating, pooping, playing & lovingly, laughingly
bright-eyed ... but both are thin, and both are thin-haired ...
especially the one, who also has swollen vulva.

Anyone have any info. on the alternative treatment? What? Who?
Statistics?

Thank you!
