Is it possible that the little one may suffer from the "phantom limb
syndrome"?

If you are not familiar with this, it is common for amputees to "feel" a
limb that was removed, as though it were still there. For humans, eerie to
say the least. If ferrets "feel" removed limbs, it may be quite frightening
for them.

I am still willing to hope the little one copes with his new disability
quicker than you think....as soon as it doesn't hurt to try and walk
around...
