Before you eat your Christmas dinner and before you open your Christmas
presents, you shelter parents will care for all the precious ferrets in
your care. You are the true meaning of Christmas.

If a little one in your care needs comforting because his owner left
him behind when they moved, then you will take the time this Christmas
day to comfort him and tell him he is loved. And you do love him.....
you love them all.

If there is an emergency you will call the vet, be charged extra
because it is a holiday and worry how you will pay the bill....
later...because the most important thing is the sick little one.
You think with your heart, always have, always will.

And when you finally sit down to enjoy your Christmas dinner and you
receive a phone call that a ferret was seen wandering in a park this
cold day, you will quickly leave your home and search the park until
you find her, covered in fleas, bone thin, exhausted and hungry, you'll
take her back to the shelter, bathe and feed her before returning to
your cold dinner. You are special.

And after Christmas when an old ferret is brought into the shelter
because the owners get a young kit for a Christmas present and no
longer want him, you will cuddle and comfort him telling him he will
be loved for the rest of his days. He will know how much he is loved
by you when he leaves for the Rainbow Bridge.

May each of you shelter parents be Blessed on this Christmas Day for
all that you do for the little ones.
