Hi all,
thanks for the tip on the rice box...you learn something new every day!!
Must rush to store and get supplies....the fuzzies will LOVE it.  I read
the post out loud to Joe and he said..."should I just get my shoes on now
and go????" Heeeheehe!  A great cheap option for ferret toys...most of you
shelter operators probably know this one...is to scan thrift stores and
garage sales for small baby toys, most are very safe (no soft rubber or
small buttons...as these things are not safe for curious human baby mouths
either).  I came home with a whole bag of stuff today for four
bucks...small stuffies, hard plastic balls, and stuffed rattles (Nick's
personal favorite).  Oh yeah...and they liked the bag they came in too!
 
To the person writing to defend the Modern Ferret issue, I have to commend
you on the fact that yes, we are a little different from most pet owners,
(even though most of us have the 'traditional' pets too) and I too liked
the style of MF from the beginning.  I have not recieved the issue yet, but
when I do get it, if I don't like something about it, that will be my
opinion.  Everyone is entitled to their own....it's supposed to be a scary
halloween thing....I will still continue to get the magazine because it
will continue to promote ferrets...just the fact that they HAVE their own
publication in a pet store is a miracle compared to 10 years ago.  As for
the other publication, that one is informative, yes, but maybe two months
behind in up-to-date info because they publish all kinds of PC "care"
magazines.  I buy BOTH at the stores because if people didn't then the
stores would not carry them for new ferret owners, this is just my opinion.
Now for a really scary true story...how about the dump bins in Murfreesboro
TN???  If you want to worry about stuff, there's plenty of real atrocities
out there.....
 
PS---I WANT that sign...."This house if for the comfort of my ferrets...if
you don't like it, what are you doing here??"
