I saw the thread about the Ionic Breeze and thought I would chime in. I
purchased four three years ago and am not sure I would ever do it again.
Consumer Reports did not rate it very well, which is something I didn't
know until AFTER I made my purchase, but the units do seem to have their
quirks.

By watching the TV ad, you would think that all you need to do to clean
the unit is to take out the collection grid and wipe it off. Well, for
one thing, I have never had any luck by just wiping it off. I had to
use running water, or the device would make a lot of buzzing sounds when
running. Because we have hard water in north Alabama, I would also hand
dry the grid so that no deposits would be left. Even after doing this,
after about one year of operation, the unit would STILL make loud buzzing
sounds. Eventually, two of the four stopped working after 2.5 years of
operation and I just had one last week stop working. After three years,
I now only have one of the four still in operation.

I think I'll do a little more research next time.
