Simon mentions a new addition to his household and the (almost) guarenteed
flying fur! This is fairly normal for ferrets (and other animals) as they
establish dominance, claim territory, etc.

I've played the "ferret socialization" game 3 times now. First, we
introduced a female kit to an established male. This went surprisingly well
and they were in the same cage almost immediately. Second, we introduced a
female kit to the established female. Sounded like a war-zone! This took a
few weeks of work but they ended up best friends and couldn't be separated.

Just recently, we introduced a male kit to the same established (and very
territorial) female. We're working on it and sooner of later Tucker is
going to grab Holly and show who's boss. For now, we chase each other, make
lots of noise, and put on displays of power!! Not sure who will when but I
am quite certain they will settle this without injuring one another.

The moral: it sound bad, looks like murder, but they (usually) will not
injur one another. With caution and supervision your new addition will soon
be a member of the pack!! Good luck to all (others) with new fuzzies!

PS: That sound in the background is Holly and Tucker
