My husband and I are moving into a brand new house at the end of this
month. We are worried about the new carpet and hardwood floors with
the ferrets. We never properly trained them to use the litter box (our
fault, we know). We have been using puppy pads in their favorite corners
for more than a year (James is almost two and Emma is a year and a half)
and it seems to work about 85% of the time. But it is a bit of an
eyesore when company is over! Our oldest, James, will also use the
litter box in the cage, when he's in there. But again, our concern is
with the new carpet, which I do not want them to ruin... immediately.
Should we continue using the puppy pads and lay them out in every corner
until the ferrets choose which their favorite corners are? Should we try
a different method? Please, if you've moved into a new house and had
this same problem, please respond back.

Thanks so much!

Jennifer
