Ask your vet for a "pill popper" would be my advice. This is what I used
to administer Flagyl earlier this year.

To (try to) explain, a pill popper is a syringe type device, but instead
of a needle, there is a rubber tip. So you pull the plunger up, insert
the pill into the rubber tip, force the tip into the back of the ferrets
throat, then shoot it down by quickly pressing the plunger.

It takes a little bit of getting used to and as my vet said, you have to be
quite positive about it (can't remember his exact words). The first few
times I too had the foaming of the mouth effect, but once you get used to
the popper, you get the mouth open, and pop it down / plunge in the blink
of eye, before the ferret realises what has happened! As I said, you do
have to be quite "positive" about it - tip into the throat and plunge all
in one motion. Seems a bit "heavy handed" at first, but once you get used
to the popper, it's benefits are clear - the ferret gets his meds and it
is over in a flash so you don't feel like too much of an ogre.

Hope that helps.
