I have a question for the vets. I got my sweet King Tut back this morning.
The vet said that one of the pins (wires actually), came through to the soft
tissue. On the X-ray it looked like maybe 1 inch or so. He said if it
causes any problems (ie: infection or irritation) that he would take it out
but not until 3 or 4 weeks, but that it should be all right. My question,
won't the wire poke & irritate the surrounding tissue and cause constant or
intermittent pain? I would really like your opinions regarding this. He is
in his cage in his hammock (open square with lambs wool in middle). His
food and water are in a attachable plastic piece that is hanging near the
hammock so he doesn't have to get up to eat, he'll only have to get up to go
the bathroom, he's. He's on the second tier and the bathroom is on the
lower tier, how much moving around is all right? Should I move him to the
lower tier? Shouldn't he be on anything for pain? If so, can he take baby
asprin? I wasn't given anything for him for pain. The vet also said he
didn't give him any antibiotics because he uses sterile surgery (is there
any other kind?) but to keep an eye open for swelling or temperature raising
on the area and if so let him know. Is it standard practice to not use
antibiotics with surgery? Is this considered minor surgery? Sorry about
all the questions, I just want what is best for my little one. I appreciate
all the help you give us on the FML and the peace of mind it affords us.

Thank you very much,
Vicky
