Dooks to all.

After over two years of bites from my vampyres, now five, only the little
one actually biting (8 weeks), I found a quite effective way to teach them
not to bite, protecting my poor hands at the same time.

I noticed that they begin to bite seriously, and with this I don't mean a
plain nip but a strong shutting of the jaws on every part of your body you
incautiosly made available to them, at around 7 weeks of age, and that you
can expect them to become more reasonable at around 6 months. During this
lapse of time I handle them wearing a pair of heavy "work" gloves, the
smooth skin type and while holding the chewing machine in one hand I caress
his body from the head to the tail and on the tummy with the other,
eventually gloveless, talking to him quietly and saying a firm "NO BITE !"
when he tries to do it. No scrolling, no nose flicking, some Ferretone to
lick when they behave gently.

Probably due to the physical contact and to your behaviour that makes them
feeling safe and cuddled, they stop biting in a considerably shorter period
of time. Of course I advice to keep wearing those gloves for some more
time when catching them while they play around.

Ciao to all
