Actually there isn't a lot to tell at this time. Melissa, Deano's owner
hasn't heard anything from the school, but really doesn't expect to this
soon.

The waiting and the wondering as to what the school is going to do next is
the hardest on her.

I've been sending email sent to me on to Melissa's dad, who prints them out
for her, as Melissa doesn't have internet access.

I was originally called by Melissa after she talked to a co-worker of mine
at the humane society where I work, who in turn gave her my name and
number. My co-worker is the person that took the ferret to the school in
the first place. There never were any papers given or signed with Deano.
My thoughts on this go with this in mind and the fact that Deano is in
Melissa's possession. He belongs to Melissa.

Melissa asked if I would be willing to talk to the principle of the high
school. It didn't go well. After telling about ferret basics Ms. Ronn
would keep insisting that 'the ferret belongs to the school' over and over
[I took notes] and got a bit rude with me. Now keep in mind, some of you
know me, I'm not an 'in-your-face' type of person. I like to do things the
nice way, at least try to. So now we wait and see.

Thank you all that wrote letters to the school officials. And those of you
who took the time to call and at least try to talk to principle Ronn.

I'll let you all know as soon as we hear something.

ps I'm sorry about the confusion some of you've had about Deano and the
fact that he belongs to Melissa Mangen and not Larry and I. I've been
dealing with this for a bit and assumed that it was clear in Melissa's
letter, but after reading it again realize that it's probably not very
clear.
