A New law is making it's way through the NH sessions.
Soon to be introduced to the Senate is

SB 123 - AS INTRODUCED
 
 
This bill will require that pet shops in NH who sell animals (Cats, dogs,
ferrets , rabbits, birds etc.,) that are deemed by a vet ill at time of
sale ( within 14 days of purchase) pay for the veteerinary costs incurred
to the consumer.
 
This is a progressive consumer protection bill that will do housekeeping
for the animal distributors and wholesalers who ship in ill, underage and
health compromised animals.  Someone will be held accountable!
