Today I mulled over the past year and re-evaluated what I have to be
thankful for. Many of you read of Junior BOING BOING and Teddy, alias
Theodorable who saved us from the over exuberance of a beautiful,
young, deaf ferret. Sadly we lost Teddy, so young and handsome to what
we suspect was lymphoma.

During Teddy's illness I began fostering for our Humane Society of
Greater Rochester. (Lollypop Farm) and soon was asked to care for a
ferret found roaming the streets of Rochester. At Lollypop Farm the
staff fell in love with this guy and called him Mr. Sweetie. Home he
came to quarantine and to be cared for and evaluated. It seems this
2-3 YOM was cage bound as he moved with hesitation and lack of
coordination. We began our adventure together. It was not long when
Mike and I decided we would re-name him Roam-eo and under that pen
name he began to report in to our Foster counselor.

During Roam-eo's stay we lost Teddy and I became very concerned for
Junior BOING BOING. He has lost his very best and most playful friend.
As time advanced with Roam-eo we determined without a doubt the poor
guy is both deaf and blind. We introduced him to various locations and
settings that would allow him to safely expand his potential. He has
blossomed into a very handsome, young man. Doc sees no physical reason
for his blindness and I wonder if nutrition or genetics are not behind
this. His skin was irritated and itchy when he arrived with scratches
from his long nails and ear mite issues. On one of our visits back to
Lollpop for ear mite checks and medication, which is a 50 minute drive
I was hearing Teddy talk to me. It was kind of like reading Isabella
Gucci Jones' FB page. "Mom, Do you have your Credit Card???"
"When we get there, just whip it out and tell Allyson, "We want to keep
Roam-eo." Allyson said we could adopt Roam-eo but not until he was
cleared health wise. Would Roameo's adoption help save Junior BOING's
BOING?

As a volunteer for Lollypop now, I always peruse the sites to see if
any mustelids are in residence. I spotted a little guy I had heard
about. Two years old, male. I paid him a visit. I fell in love. There
was that voice again, Teddy, telling me this was to be Junior BOING
BOING's new Buddy. And guess what the little guy's name is.......yep.
Buddy. WE put "a hold" on Buddy. I went to get a coffee for the ride
home with Roam-eo. I figured my hubby should at least have an
opportunity to object. I got my coffee, decided to call him. I
explained. He hit me with the famous last words..."I'm just going to
remind you that I was told that I should tell you that we have enough
ferrets and even if we lose someone -- we have enough ferrets." Those
were my words. I replied, "I know, but this is BOING's new Buddy." "We
have to get his BOING back." He suggested I save the gas and just go
back to the Petsmart store/Lollpop site and get him! So Roameo and I
did.

Well, Roameo is now a Ryan. Junior has his BOING back and his little
friend is now known as BOING's Buddy. He is also a Ryan. He is also
a blaze and he is also deaf. Three of them -- I love it!

We miss all of our beloved bears, my heart is still aching from Teddy's
absence, but I have occasional visits from him in the form of a falling
leaf or the image of him hanging out "up there" in a nice hammie with a
rhythmic swing, slapping his knee with a big smile thinking of his best
friends and being at peace because the synchronicity has returned to
the Ryan home.

It took a while, but I came to realize that Teddy was not suggesting
Roameo come to be BOING's Buddy. Roameo was sent to help fill the void
created by the loss of such a beautiful spirit. Teddy wanted Roameo for
me. Yes, love works in mysterious ways..............................

May you all have a joyous Thanksgiving Day and appreciate the Blessings
that have come to you this year.
