Has anyone lost a ferret near the Golf Course in Key West, Florida? My
friend's brother saw a siamese ferret about 3 lbs. near his condo, where
he leavse cat food out for the stray cats in the area.

He's going to try to befriend it and catch it if he can. He's posting
signs in the neighborhood. Ever since he and his girlfriend spent 2
weeks with my Rocky, they have become ferret converts (despite Rocky's
foot-biting habit), so if someone doesn't claim this ferret, they will
keep him. They say he looks healthy and moves with the speed of light.

My friend, who's Rocky's godmother (she gave him to me for my birthday)
has lived in Key West and says that a lot of animals get dumped there
because it's such a transient town.

If you are missing a ferret in Key West, please email me and I'll put you
in touch with the friends in Key West.

P.S. I am a new ferret (8 months) and I was wondering if there's any way
to get Rocky to stop biting people's feet. I tried everything, since
he was 2 months old, and though he quickly learned not to bite hands or
anywhere else, he persists with feet, especially socked feet. I've tried
Bitter Apple, Tiger Balm, Vick's Vaporub. He's just too smart for that.
If the feet don't smell like some offensive chemical, he bites. (Saying
"no" in a loud voice doesn't work either; he just comes back and bites
harder! Scruffing never worked either; same result.) I don't mind that
much for myself, because he only does it to get my attention, usually when
my feet are under the covers in bed. But most of my friends are afraid of
him. He even bit the cable guy, going under his pants and above his big
boots until he found sock!

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
