I have to give my 2 cents worth on this so called cheaper food and The
Ferret Store issue.
 
Several months back my neice while cruising though the internet found a
ferret food that my moterh and I were experimenting with giving our
ferrets.  The food was 8 in 1 Ultimate I beleive but that is not important.
We had bought a 20 lb bag for each of us from a local store and was mixing
it with a high grade of cat food (their usual food) and they ate it faily
well.  But as I said my neice was surfing the internet and found the same
food at a considerable saving, so we each ordered a bag.  The ferrets
refused to eat it even though it was the same as bought at a local store.
I think I vacuumed most of it off the cage floor where they threw it out of
the bowl.  My mother had the same difficulty even though they would eat the
same food from the local store.  The only thing I can figure is that the
food was old or something else was wrong with it that a human could not
detect.  The Totally Ferret sale sounds good but I have always been brought
up to look at things and if somethings sounds and looks to good to be true
then most of the time it is.  A lot of large retail stores buy their food
in large amount to save money.  If it doesn't sell they reduce the price to
lower the inventory and reduce loss.  I am not saying this is true but has
anybody asked the true critic if they like it, namely tried to feed it to a
ferret and see what they think.  I have learned their opinion is usually
honest and most imediate.  I hope this is not the case and the food is
perfectly good and the ferrets love it because if it isn't, you can be sure
you will not get a refund.  Remember a very old saying.  You get what you
pay for.
 
On the ferret Store, we have delt with them for over a year now and their
orders are prompt and the critics give it four paws as to quality.  Most
of our ferritvite, ferrettone, shampoos and coat and fur sprays come from
there.  And I am promoting a local business sorta as the store is 100 miles
form here.LOL Anyway recently we recieved an order of ferrettone and
ferritvite from them.  Unfortunately one of the bottle was empty and most
of the ferrittone was soaked up in the box.  It appeared that the seam in
the bottle had broken.  We called them up at costomer service and explained
the problem to them.  They said that it was not problem that they would
send another bottle.  Didn't ask for the old one, had no veirfcation other
than the name and the order #, but were willing to replace it on our word
alone.  An the next day the bottle came, they FEDEX ed it next day service
at their expense, when ground would have been good enough, all to provide
good service to a costumer.  I don't know about you but I think service
like that should be rewarded by more business myself.
