Last night I picked up one of our ferrets (Baby Elephant) when I discovered
he had been bitten several times on the back of the neck (I've seen
punctures on the neck of a few of the guys before when they were fighting
too rough--this is nothing like that). I was in the house, but never heard
a thing. The bites were very recent and I rinsed the wound with 1 teaspoon
of 3% peroxide to 1/4 aloe vera gel (as an animal book we have suggested).
This morning it looks much better and Baby Elephant is currently on an
antibiotic because of an upper respiratory infection he had last week. My
problem: I have a hunch which one of the ferrets did this, but what do I
do? I separated him out of the rest of the troupe last night, but do I do
this indefinitely? And I want to know WHY this happened. These guys have
been together for some years. It's just so weird. Suggestions are welcome
especially if anyone can shed some light on why this would happen.

Thanks!
Laura
