I worked with a vet to get the Des implants in our area and about 40
implants were done about mid April. I've tried to track the results of
the implants. Nearly everyone noticed a much softer coat on the ferrets
within a few weeks. It is not until the last few weeks that most of us
have noticed any real results. We had also been questioning the results
of the implants and, frankly, still do to some end. On a personal end,
I have an adrenal male that did not respond to melatonin or Lupron. He
had little hair loss but had become very aggressive. The aggression has
ceased within the last few weeks. I have a small female that came in
hairless on the back half of her body. With good food and care, she
started growing some of the fur back in. About six weeks after the Des
implant, she began growing in fur on the body. In the last few weeks
the fur on the tail has really filled out.

One female dog and her offspring can produce 4,372 puppies in seven
years. One female cat can breed 12,680 kittens in five years. One
person can prevent at least one such cycle and the suffering it brings.
