I've been reading up on insulinoma, since Cully's got it. I know the
glassy-eyed, lethargic, drooling signs to look for. However, Cully once
in a while acts like he needs to vomit, rushing around, hiding, heaving,
looking sad. He rarely produces anything, and after a while goes back to
normal, and I give him extra Petromalt (although now that I've noticed it's
47% malt syrup, I'm not so sure about giving him that anymore). According
to Hillyer and Quesenberry, however, excessive salivation and nausea are
something the ferret is likely to experience if it's got too much insulin
in its system. Could this behavior of Cully's be a sign of low-level
hypoglycemic episodes? It doesn't happen that often, maybe once every 4-6
weeks or so (that I see, anyway, as I don't work at home). Or is it just
Cully doing his best to make me fret and coddle him more ;-) Anyway, I'd be
very interested in people's thoughts on this.

Cully's diong great after his adrenal surgery, btw; I did have to spoonfeed
him for a few days, but he pulled out of it and has that shuffly spring
back in his step :-)
