i bought a used book last weekend called "A Treasury of Animal Stories".  It
was printed in 1946.  There is a story called Sredni Vashtar which has a
ferret in it.  It's a "wicked stepmother" type of story but with a cousin
instead.  The ferret is the hero.  Some might say it makes ferrets look bad
but I enjoyed it.  If anyone wants a copy e-mail me and I'll e-mail you a
copy.  It's about 3 pages long.
