Even though i am still looking for my little lost boy, Epimetheus. I
cannot help but chuckle at the remark my husband made today, whilst we
were watching our small / not smallest, but youngest boy Odin, insigate
play with our dog Ulyssees, a shepherd/lab mix, i should reverse that
and say lab/shepherd mix, as it seems the lab sure shows through in him,
size and personality wise. Ulyssees, just loves the ferrets, and
especially Odin right now... Dan says' "you know we have a 110 pound
ferret, right?" The lab in Uly, permits him to mouth him, in play...
supervised of course :-). I will never forget when he did it the first
time to Frey, when he was a baby, i almost had a heart attack, as Uly
actually had picked Frey up in his mouth and was carrying him around.

Uly hovers over the ferrets, like they were all his...especially the
little ones, he shares his food, (a few pieces, but not a steady diet of
dog food) and his bed also, Uly got a new bed, recently and the ferrets
like it just as much as he does, and Uly will just look with that
( surrendering) look on his face, that just says "OH, well..." We
couldn't have asked for a better dog, truthfully. My daughters Ital
Greyhound, Foxy does all the guard duty initially, barking when anyone
comes home, but Uly just needs to make his presence be seen...he is so
good, we let him out, and he just lays on the side porch till we let him
in...sometimes if it is chilly outside, he will bang on the screen door,
to let us know he is back, otherwise, he just stays put and enjoys the
air. This is one ferret, we can safely let outside and know he will not
wander...unfortunately, right now i have to keep looking for the lost son.
Bandit had blood drawn for blood work, today. He just hadn't seem himself
lately, and is about 3 y/o. I know Jupiter is most assuredly going for
adrenal surgery in the spring. He is such a prescious boy too. He still
has to have the splint on his foot, so "if" we let him out for a little
while (he looks so sad being caged for so long), for play time, we hear
pitter, patter, pitter, thump...on the floor. Felicias vag swelling seems
to be responding to the Cefa drops, but am going to price an injection for
her, and Fergie is still only a wee pound, and requires a booster subq to
get her appetite recharged, now and then, but she is eating some of the
gravey that the others love to dine on..now too.

Fergie, is very reserved, and has on occasion, when Uly wants to play
doggie/nurse nipped his nose, and has elicited a yelp from him, but he
goes right back to her...he is big mommy ferret :-) I have her tucked into
my thermal shirt/under my sweatshirt right now...she is happy there...

Please say a prayer for Eppers tonight, while you are tucking your litle
ones in...

Respectfully
Donna, still looking for Epper
