While I agree the best way to prevent spreading the flu is washing
hands, etc. as Melissa stated, I refuse to get any flu shot. I am a
nurse as well and recently left a hospital with over 1000 beds in a
large city.

The seasonal one is a crap shoot, although better than nothing for
those with chronic illnesses. The H1N1 is a live virus and should not
be given to anyone high risk. Because it is live you are being given
the flu for your body to fight off rather than a killed virus that
your body builds an immune response to.

Getting the shots is an individual choice, but using good hygeine is
much more effective in my opinion.
