I am from the Charlotte area.  I have used the Carolina Veterinary
Specialists in Huntersville.....Dr. Lauren Powers is their exotic
specialist.  I was very pleased with her knowledge and caring attention.
I am not sure though, if she is out on maternity leave at this time (she
was pregnant back in August and mentioned that she would soon be out).
But I'm sure a call to them could verify that.
 
There is an exotics vet clinic on Monroe Road in Charlotte that would be
closer to Ballantine than Huntersville is.  However I have no firsthand
knowledge of his knowledge of ferrets as I have never taken any animals
to him.
