Hello fellow FML'ers,

Just wanted to say Thank you for all the cards that came to Ferret
Dreamers Rescue Haven. When the first card came it was so nice of
someone to think of us and the ferrets here. Then the next two days
even more cards came and we thought it was wonderful that so many
people would tell us thanks for what we gladly do. Your cards meant
a lot to us as well as the inserts of poems as well. And then today
we got an even bigger reminder of why we do this.

I got a call from a man who'd found a ferret scratching on his back
door this morning. He said his son came running in to him saying there
was a rat scratching at the back door trying to get in,(who could blame
him for trying). The man said they found us on the internet and they
knew he was balding and had some problems from some reading up they had
done on ferrets. So we agreed to meet him 10 mins. away from where we
were at at the time. I collected the ferret and the mans info as well
and asked him to post signs in his neighborhood for us. He said he
lived in a cul-de-sac with two houses and because of the area a lot of
animals get dumped there. The street was Potters cove. Hence, the male
ferrets new name Potter.

Potter like all ferrets was beautiful to me as I held him in my jacket
he fell asleep the whole way home. He had very little hair to speak of
was covered in fleas and dirt. Most likely was dumped. They say God
took the 7th day to rest, I know that for at least part of today he was
working leading a little ferret to us and reminding me why we do this.
Why we all as rescues do what we do each and every one of us. Thank God
for miracles and the ones that do find their way home. No matter where
that home may be.

I read Risa's poem today funny how things work out. Great Poem by the
way.

Sincerely,
Shannon
