Good day, all! On Wednesday, I took my "Katie" to a vet that I had used
before, and was satisfied then, for a blood glucose check & general
physical, as she was an abandoned rescue. After B/G & examination, I
proceeded to the front desk, paid my fee, and left with my fert & the
"receipt".....

On that receipt, there was listed
>>"Name"...Katie Rich,...
"Species"....Ferret,
then "Breed"...."RODENT"!!!!!

I believe & HOPE the receptionist wrote this, & not the vet! My visit
there again tomorrow to 'politely' correct the Rodent thing will be
brief, but I was wondering if there is a "correct" answer to "Breed",
or if this form was basically for Dogs & Cats??....

I spoke with a friend who is certainly 'ferret-savvy, and many possible
answers were suggested. "Taxonomically, they`re in between Cats & Dogs,
a little closer to Dogs." Would "Mustela furo", "Angoras", "Hooded
Sable"(which she is), or their "color" be the correct answers? I think
the word "BreedER" would be more appropriate, although not actually any
of their business unless they were a "carrier" of a spreadable disease!
I`m actually really confused. Does anyone know the answer to this, or
maybe this space should be left blank? Certainly NOT Rodent! This vet
is a Small Animal & Exotics Specialist,....probably the one to ask.
Any opinions on this??

Thanks to all, Dooks......
