Hi fellow ferret lovers

All 10 of my babies are Hagen ferrets. They are all really sweet, but a
few of them needed a lot of handling. I think (MHO ONLY) that the crucial
time for socialising ferrets is between 6-8weeks old. I feel this is the
most important time in their lives to handle them and handle them a lot.
This is the age that most ferrets go to a pet store, from where ever they
came from. Most pet store owners and employees don't realize that they
need a lot of handling at this age. I have a pet store near me and I try
to explain to the owner the importance of handling them a lot at this age.
He tries, but it is a very busy pet store. They know me very well and
allow me to help myself to the ferret cage to play to my heart's content.
As if I don't have enough play time at home, with my 10 < big G>. However
this is my way of helping the cause. I usually talk to people who come
into the store, I also cut nails and clean ears, and I've been known to
give baths on occasion. I relly am a ferret-a-holic. I just can't get my
fill of ferrets ( tee hee ).

We took Moxy down to see Dr. Taylor at the University of Guelph, a week ago
today. She got her first Lupron Shot. The Dr. did some blood work and
sent some of it to the States for the Tennesse panel. We have to go back
in a month, and will discuss the blood results at that time. Moxy is the
oldest ferret that he has given Lupron to, but he feels confidant that it
could give her a year or more of quality time. If the results are
favorable, he will give her the 3 month shot, when we go down on Set.23rd.

The size of her vulva had already started to decrease, but now it is almost
normal. <Big CHEER>. I'm not sure if I'm over-reacting, but I think I
feel stubble on her tail!? Dr. Taylor asked me to take her off of the
drenamin, but says I can continue the Timmy's Tonic and the Essiac. For
now, we are pretty pleased, and just pray that all continues to go well.
Please keep us in your fuzzy prayers. we pray for all of the sick and
mistreated ferrets of the world, that they may recover or find loving
homes.
