That story about the baby getting bitten by a ferret in Oregon is so sad!
I'm not a parent, but I feel horrible that they would leave their baby in a
playpen in another room while their dogs could sleep with them.  And they
heard no crying that might alert them something was wrong?  The whole thing
is just awful!
