I'm so happy we were able to rescue the little ones when we did. Yesterday
we had a very cold and windy rain/snow storm. It warms the heart to know
that these little ones will never be cold another day in their life. Stay
warm and loved my little ones....

Bryan called last night and saw the first clumsy steps of the "dance of
joy"! What a learning experience this will be for ferrets and humans alike.
:-)

Charlene called and her boys are not thrilled with their new brother's
smell. It will take about a month for things to settle there and in Vicky's
home too.

The retired breeder boys seem to be getting along well with other ferrets,
it's the girls that are fussy. Well you would be too if the only time you
were with another ferret was for mating (not a joyful experience for the
female several times a year) or thrown in an unheated shed with straw and
mass fed and watered every few days, left to fend for yourself against the
other females.... Time, patience, and lots of TLC will bring them all around.

Shelters - There are several ECE shelters that are overflowing. Anyone with
an ECE household looking to adopt a ferret that already has been exposed to
ECE please let me know (and you thought you might not be able to adopt
another ferret because of ECE).

There are also a couple shelters that closed on the East coast and ferrets
are needing to be moved into other shelters or homes.

If you are looking to adopt or are a shelter without ferrets and can take
some of these little ones let's see if we can work something out. I'm
willing to work on this project to help it along (obviously I need more to
do :-)).

Here's the info I need -
Shelter, Name, address, phone number, email address for contact
How many ferrets you have or
How many you can take
ECE exposed or
ECE free

And for individuals -
Name, address, phone number, email address for contact
How many ferrets you have
How many you can take
A little background on your lifestyle/family
Medical/nursing experience with ferrets
If you can take and care for handicaps or terminal illness
ECE exposed or
ECE free

There. That will get us started. :-) Once this info comes in and we match
up then we'll work on transport. With Holidays coming up it might not be
too difficult to get the little ones moved.

(Santa, all I want for Christmas is a home for each and every homeless
ferret and someone to love and care for them for the rest of their
short little lives.)

Hugs to all. tle
