I am sorry that Oprah passed away. The decision for surgery or not
aside, a good point for other owners who have never (thankfully) come
across squeaking or tooth grinding is that if your fuzzy is grinding
it's teeth, you can manage their pain with medication. Buprinex can
help this and let your ferret have some good sleep relatively pain
free.

If there is squeaking, an emergency vet trip is in order. At that point
you may have to put the ferret to sleep to ease it's pain if it is that
extreme. The vet would be able to help you decide with x-rays, etc. to
see if it's really necessary or not. Sometimes cases are not cut and
dry. Pain could be from anything - a tumor, a blockage, something
easily fixed, or not at all.
