Sir, you have been misinformed re: veggies for ferrets.

Ferrets are strict carnivores - they do not have a Cecum, a small
pocket next to the intestine that breaks down fiber. Ferrets cannot
digest grains, fruits or vegetables.

The only recommendation for feeding a veggie, is to feed them pure
canned pumpkin or squash occasionally to help pass out fur balls, or if
they have ingested something they shouldn't have, a regimen of lax and
pumpkin every few hours can help pass the object (i.e., they chewed up
some fabric or rubber).
