Friday afternoon, someone brought a little cinnamon ferret into my work
(pet supermarket). He had a nasty attitude, snapping at every question i
asked, if he answered at all. Turned out the ferret had been found and
passed from kid to kid as parent's said no, finally ending up with these
people's kid. They live in a no pets apartment they said, or they would
have kept her....sure, from the fathers attitude i don't buy that.

Anyway, she was so dehydrated, she could barely keep her head up. And her
back legs were hardly working. could be several reasons why though. Her
nose was bright red, as were her paw pads, which were so raw they were
almost bleeding. The insides of her back legs and belly were red as
well,.... looked likee she'd done the flat ferret for too long on the hot
pavement! Possibly she had, as she had been found. the vet thought so
too, from the wear and blisterig on her paws, and thought her nose was
sunburned! :(

They gave her sub q fluids of course, and checked her out. the vet said
she seemed ok physically otherwise, and had started drinking on her own by
friday night. The lady who took her in rehabs wildlife (birds and such),
so she thought she could handle a ferret. The vet took care of her for
free tat way, or i'd have taken her in, but i just don't have the money
now, and i didn't want to not be able to afford anything she needed.

the point was, how can people do this to a ferret?? chances are she was
let go, as i haven't seen any ads in the newspaper, nor anyone in the pet
store. we get a lot of flyers and such for lost pets. She was cute too,
just laying in my arms as we got her to take some pedialyte!
