I tried to send this to your email but it bounced.

I can tell you that my Chow was very protective of me and my children.
She would take on anything, human or animal, that she percieved as a
threat to us. Problem was, her idea of a threat was different from the
average person's idea. If anyone/anything came near us she was out for
blood. (literally). She jumped an 8' fence to get to a door to door
sales person. She tried to eat our Corgi mix when she climbed on my,
then 3 y/o's, lap. I could go on, but you get the idea. Chows make
great pets, but they bond very strongly with thier owners. I would
not have gotten ferrets while I still had Cubby.

Hope this helps,
Shelley
