I had a ferret with severe gas issues, secondary to a clostridium
infection, and my vet had us give him the Gas-X formulated for infants.
I can't remember the dosage, so that's something you'd have to talk to
your vet about. The active ingredient in the Gas-X is simethicone. My
ferret didn't seem to mind the taste of it--I think it gave him nearly
immediate relief and he was able to make that association with the
medication.
