PLEASE CROSSPOST!!!

Michelle Alverson, of Ferrets-n-Limbo shelter and coordinator of the
Florida Titusville Ferret Rescue, has asked me to be the spokesperson for
the rescue. Michelle needs to focus her energy on the ferrets. Until I
am fired from this position, please direct any questions, comments, or
criticisms to me. I would also appreciate being informed of any rumors
circulating so they can be explained or nipped in the bud immediately. I
will keep Michelle fully informed but hope to handle most of the details
without having to bother her. I am not on a lot of ferret lists so I
hope that you will help spread the word. I plan to post daily updates.

Katharine

Total head count: 110

Just about all of the ferrets have mild dehydration. About 10 needed
fluids at once and throughout the day. We have several with adrenal and
several of the girls seem to have vaginal discharge. We will most likely
do Amoxi on everyone for 5 - 7 days just to clear out any extra bacteria,
etc. We have one large DEW with bad vomiting and one fear biting female.
Overall the entire situation was much better than planned on- however I'm
glad we over-planned as it made the whole operation smooth.

The entire Florida network really has come through and folks are
beginning to arrive this morning for more help and with supplies. It's
going to be hard work, but when you look at all the faces and watch them
eating and drinking like they haven't in so long it's rewarding.

As for supplies, we really need finances for ADV testing right now.
It'll be just over $800 - between SOS and some Paypal donations we have
$400. Food is a biggie as well because 110 ferret can EAT!! Any high
quality kitten food as well as the Ferret Store brand (NOT the natural) .
