I agree I shouldn't have called the woman a twit. I do stand by putting
her name and city out there. I feel strongly if she opens a rescue,
it is a matter of time before the rest of us are asked to pick up the
pieces and we need to know the person we’re dealing with.

This woman said nothing about contacting the vet if a ferret comes in
sick. She specifically said ferrets don't need to see the vet unless
it's an emergency and, they don't need vaccinations. She told me it was
absurd I was spending so much money at the vet. I don't run to the vet
with every ferret or issue that comes up. I can't possibly afford to.
I have a lot of things on hand the vet has provided me with, so I can
take care of things here.

She has owned two ferrets for five years and point blank said this
gives her enough experience to run a rescue and she didn't need ferret
advice from me. I sent her ferret information emails, including about
medical conditions, hairballs, kidney disease, etc. She as much as said
I was overreacting.

I wasn't being preachy with her. I explained I was just trying to help
educate her on what can happen with ferrets, so she'll be prepared when
it comes around. She was incredibly rude. I was not rude in return. I
left it with the offer to answer any questions she has about ferrets or
their health, but I didn't feel she was ready for running a rescue at
this time. That was not ruling out future rescue work, just that she
isn't ready right now.
