I got up this morning only to see a little while later our Fox stretched
out on the couch seat, in a flat-ferret pose, not moving. He was laying
there with his eyes half closed, still breathing, but limp as a rag.
Fearing the worst, I picked him up. (I have been extra watchful - ok,
worried - with him since we tried to squish him.)

A couple of seconds later he starts squirming, ready to get down and play.
It seems he was just sleeping with his eyes open in a very unusual spot.

<frustrated sigh>

Why do they do these things to us? Are they *trying* to give us heart
attacks? Or maybe they just like practical jokes.... :-)

My condolences to those whose fuzzy friends really have passed on
recently. It seems like a lot of them in the past week. I don't usually
send out individual condolences, but know that I cry right along with you
(yeah, big tough guy) for each and every one.

Roger, Digger, Bear, Fox and Sniffles
