Hello to you all --

I have a little more information now, plus a question:

About the ferrets themselves, they are safe where they are, at least
through Sept, and probably more. Also, I believe that I can have them
sheltered for a time after that.

I'm looking for a licensed CA ferret shelter that could take custody
of the ferrets after they must leave where they are. Is there a list
available? The idea is that the shelter might be able to not only take
custody for me but also get them across the state line to a shelter
that they could be retrieved from by the person transporting them.

People have offerred this very practical help to the person(s) who
might transport the ferrets north from Calif:

- If someone can get the ferrets to Brookings Oregon (9 mi. no.
of Ca.) the ferts could stay there a few days.

- If someone can get the ferrets to Bandon, OR Oregon (an hour north
of the CA border) the ferts and the transporter could spend the
  night in a guest house.

- [abt problems w the CA-border check stations]
During the last week of Oct, there will be help you getting the
  ferrets across the state line.
