This is one of the hardest things I have ever done. My husband lost his
job and we had to move into his parents basement. His mother doesn't
want the ferrets in the house so I am trying to find a new forever home
for them or a shelter or foster home.

They are 4 girls. One of the ferrets is "handicapped". I have moved
twice in less then a year and it has taken it's toll on these poor girls.
They all lost the hair on there tails and lost weight but the hair has
come back all except the "handicapped" one. They all need there shots
also.

We are trying to sell our home where we used to live and money is really
tight right now but I am willing to pay for food and there needs untill a
home is found. (right now I can afford $25-40 a month) Right now I have
almost 20 pounds of 4 different kinds of food. Alot of treats and an
almost 5 foot cage for them, a hammock, noahs' ark boat, a cube..2 corner
litterboxes. I also have a 11 panel pen with no bottom at my old home
for when I cleaned there room that I will give as soon as I can get back
there. In my old home there is plastic tubes and a toy boat also. They
haven't left the cage since they have been here and won't be allowed to.

I have untill the 20th of this month to find them a place or my mother
in law will get rid of them herself..or so I was told by her. I have
had 2 of the ferrets for about 4 years and the other 2 for almost 3. A
foster home would be great but it might be a year untill we can take them
back but I will do whatever I need to for them to be happy. If it's
giving them up forever I will do what I have to do. In my old home they
had there own room and now they are just in this cage and I don't think
they are happy ....though I have read they rather stay in a cage then be
given up...but I just don't have that option. I would rather find them
a home or a ferret shelter myself first. She wants to take them to a no
kill shelter but I would rather find something through here if at all
possible.

I am so sorry for asking this. I am 33 years old and never thought that
my life would of taken the turn it did.

The cage will have to be put together with thick plastic strap/tie things
because when we took it apart for the first move the ones that came with
the cage broke. I also have the base and wheels in my old home and can
bring them when I get back there.

Please email me with any questions, information, advice, anything. I
didn't care that I had to give up everything and everyone making this
move..it's my girls that make this the worst thing. I know that people
around the world have so much more issues then me but I really love my
girls. I have read this ferret-list for 4 years now and have been a
secret santa to many kids and will always be and now not being able to
be a mom to my own is just unthinkable.

Ok sorry this is so long and thank you all for your time.

Lisa
