I was losing faith and giving up hope....

Monday morning, Fizgig sneaked out the back door and kept on running. For
over 6 days I have been doing searches of the neighbourhood every couple
hours, I've had over a dozen neighbours doing patrols, I've been harrassing
anyone walking their dog to know if their dog had smelled anything strange
and even bribed local school children to go crawling though backyards and
not a single peep was to be heard. Today was the one week mark and I
thought all hope was lost. Seeing as I've been very useless at work for
the past week (walking zombie) I thought I would start accepting the fact
that I had lost my baby and go to work for a couple hours.

I got home about 1am this morning and checked email. I had 1 email asking
if Fizgig had showed up and had just sat down to give the bad news, when I
heard a scream from upstairs...

As soon as I identified the cries as coming from Tink my heart leaped...
only 1 of my ferrets can get into Tink's room.

Fizgig came home all by herself. I had jury-rigged the cat door and
barriers so a ferret could walk into the house, but none of my other
ferrets could get out. Sometime within the last 2 hours Fizgig walked
back into the house, leaped over the barrier to Tink's room (I had
intentionally removed the second barrier that is Fiz proof) and was
woofing down the Duck Soup that is always available for Tinkerbell. I
guess Tinkerbell woke up to defend her food and the screams started.

By the time I got upstairs the only ferret I could see was Tink, but she
was clucking like mad so I knew someone was in her room... A quick search
and I saw a familiar nose sticking out from under the bookcase and my
tears of joy started !!!! My little girl came back.

Fizgig looks suprisingly well for being gone almost 7 days. She is thin,
but definetly not emaciated which leads me to believe she found her way
into a house with cat food to steal... She is very nervous as I'm bleeding
from a couple spots when I try and go near her so she has had quite a few
scary moments on her adventure... but she is now home, time and love will
help her on the road to recover.

I want to thank everyone for you suggestions, words of hope and offers of
help. Every single word helped me get through this week of hell....

Thank you
Paige with the mighty adventurer Fizgig !!!
