Hey Meagan--
I find that scruffing mostly makes my two madder at me than they were
before, Amelia especially. Scruffing is kind of their two minute warning--
a sign that if the behavior continues, they can expect time out in about two
minutes or less. They don't like the vet to scruff them either; Amelia bit
the vet for it once.

I have a little concern about White Fang-- maybe this is something that has
already been settled and I shouldn't worry. But, it seems to me that
although everybody wants to do what we can for this poor little ferret, we
have to be careful not to let her best interests get over- looked. I'm
speaking here of where she goes after the surgery. It seems to me that she
should just go to the shelter with prospective homes that it will take the
least time to get to, whether that's by air to Vancouver or by car to Idaho.
I don't mean to criticize anybody at all here-- it's wonderful to see what's
being done for this ferret, and the lengths people are willing to go to to
help her. Let's just focus on getting White Fang's ordeal over with as
quickly as possible and get her into a loving home. Just my .02, and again,
absolutely no criticism of anybody is intended. It's just one of those
nagging worries.

explain what ferrets are to prospective landlords)
