I wanted to thank everyone who responded to my questions about Heidegger's
gastic ulcers this past week. It's amazing how much better he is doing,
after only being on meds since Wednesday. I took everyone's suggestions,
and we are going to continue treatment for four weeks. Everyone is very
relieved that we aren't going to have to have him go into surgery.

One quick note about the Flagyl. I've used this on ferrets before, and
know all too well how much they despise it (and I got many emails wishing
me good luck with the stuff). But Heidegger does not mind it at all. In
fact, he licks the Nutrical off of it, chews it, and then swallows with no
problem. I cringed when I saw he had to have it, remembering how I've had
to administer it in the past to the ferrets. But he seems to like it. And
he likes the Pepto, too. I'm starting to think he has no taste buds.

He's also been very good about force feedings. He has been eating his
crunchies a bit, but I've been giving him chicken baby food a few times a
day just to make sure he's getting enough. I've also been quite amazed at
his energy! He is actually banging to get out of the cage, something he's
never done before.

Again, thank you. We all really appreciate your help.
