we had an anonymous mailing list? For you newbies I'm including a copy
of issue A001, the first of 5 issues, for the sake of nostalgia and
because it lists some vets in MA, which someone was looking for. I hope
this is ok with BIG. I deleted most of the header to make it shorter.

Guess what? I've spawned another mailing list. The normal ferret mailing
list is as before - and you three are still in it. I've also started
off a "anonymous ferret" mailing list. Just for you three guys. This
is so you can exchange information that would be specific to caring for
ferrets in places where they are illegal.

I'm still leaving your names out of these articles. Though, if all three
of you agree, I might as well leave 'em in.

Remember: if you wish to send an article to the regular ferret mailing list,
sign your article only with your initials. If you want your article to go
over the anonymous channel please be sure to let me know inside the article.

Subject: Ferret vets in illegal states

Hi Chris,

I thought you might want to send this to the other person

[Now there's three, all from the same state...]

on the list with the illegal ferrets. It is a list of vets who will work on
ferrets.

  In Massachusetts:

Chabot Vetinary Clinic - Lexington, Mass
Will administer shots and treat ferrets

Angel Memorial Hospital - Boston (or maybe Cambridge)
Haven't really dealt with them but know people who did.

Acton Vetinary Clinic - Great Road, Acton, Mass
Have taken mine there. They weren't too knowledgable
but were willing to help if needed.

  In New Hampshire:

     COMPANION ANIMAL CLINIC 485-7133 ALLENSTOWN
COMPANION ANIMAL HOSP. 435-6744 CHICHESTER DR MESSENGER

These people saved my Shadow's life. She had a case of
interceception (sp), where the intestines telescope inside of
itself. She was almost dead when I brought her in and now,
two years later, shes as healthy as ever. This is a common
ailment of ferrets. They will not administer shots or do
other preventative treatments but they will NEVER refuse ANY
sick or injured animal (I don't know about animals found on
the roadside but I'm willing to bet they'd help em.).

Also I recently saw a show (I think it was 20/20) on pit bulls with people
arguing both sides and was thinking that it would be good if they would do
something like that on ferrets and show children playing with ferrets. Just
putting a bug in someone's ear...
