I just wanted to tell my story on litterboxes to anyone who is having
trouble with theirs (not with actually going in it, because my 3 ferrets are
100%, 95%, and 90% litterbox trained). When we got our third ferret (a
panda), it didn't understand that it had to keep his but low or else it
would go over the side. I mean it got so bad that one time, the ferret kept
backing up and went right up the wall. His butt was straight up in the air.
Not a very clean situation.

So, we went to Wal Mart and bought three storage boxes with sides about 5"
high and then we cut out a opening longways so the ferrets could get in
without having to climb anything (on a side note, when we had the three
other cat litter boxes, the hit/miss ratio was lower (more misses) because I
don't think they liked having to climb 3". Now with the storage boxes taht
have part of a side cut out, they only have to step up about 1/2" to an 1").
The sides are high enough and slick enough that all three ferrets can now
make it in the confines of the poop box.

I'm another Totally Ferret convert. One ferret will eat anything, and the
other two only ate 8-in-1 Ferret Food. With a main ingredient being corn
meal, the ferrets produced alot of stool. I mean all three litter boxes
were full in a day. We tried Totally Ferret (luckily they all like it) and
the stool that is produced has been drastically reduced.
