An Associated Press article in today's San Antonio Express-News told of a
study in which rhesus monkeys were able to "show a sense of numbers". If
I may quote a sentence: "Previous studies by other researchers have shown
some evidence of a number sense among pigeons, rats, ferrets, raccoons,
dolphins and parrots." This was the only mention of other animals as the
rest of the article detailed the study with the monkeys. Would love to
know what the ferret study was exactly. Just goes to show how smart our
guys are, something we knew already.
